What is the Recovery Process After Hair Transplant Surgery?
The recovery process after hair transplant surgery may vary depending on the general health status of the patient, the technique applied, and the extent of the surgical intervention. However, it generally includes the following steps:
Immediately After:Immediately after the hair transplant operation, mild swelling, redness and crusting may be observed in the patient’s hair area. This is a normal reaction and usually subsides in a short time.
First Few Days:In the first few days after the operation, the patient’s head is wrapped with a bandage and rest is recommended. Pain or discomfort is usually minimal and can be controlled with medication prescribed by the doctor.
Crusting and Scab Loss:After hair transplantation, scabs may form around the transplanted hair follicles. These scabs usually fall off spontaneously within the first few weeks.
After the First Weeks:In the first weeks, scabs and redness in the hair transplantation area decrease. However, full recovery may take a longer time.
First Month:In the first month after the operation, some of the transplanted hair may fall out. This is a normal process and is expected for the hair follicles to settle.
First Three Months: Around the third month after hair transplantation, new hair begins to take root and the hair begins to grow naturally during this period.
After the Sixth Month:From the sixth month after hair transplantation, the healing process becomes more pronounced and the hair becomes thicker and longer.
