Health Tourism in Türkiye
Health tourism is a rapidly growing sector worldwide, playing an important role in showcasing countries’ healthcare capabilities on an international scale. In recent years, Türkiye has emerged as one of the leading destinations for international health tourism, supported by investments in healthcare infrastructure, advancements in medical services, and a highly qualified healthcare workforce.
With its modern healthcare facilities, specialist physicians, experienced healthcare professionals, and advanced technological infrastructure, Türkiye offers a wide range of medical services to international patients. The country’s strategic geographical location, convenient transportation options, rich historical and cultural heritage, and thermal resources further contribute to its potential as a health tourism destination.
Türkiye has developed significant expertise and healthcare service capacity on an international scale, particularly in aesthetic and plastic surgery, hair transplantation, and medical aesthetics. The adoption of contemporary medical practices, accumulated expertise across specialized fields, and emphasis on personalized treatment planning have contributed to the country’s progress in these areas. In addition to medical care, the coordination of supporting services such as accommodation, transportation, and patient assistance plays an important role in enhancing the overall experience of international patients.
Another key factor supporting the development of health tourism in Türkiye is the availability of multilingual communication and coordination services tailored to the needs of patients from different countries. Cultural connections, hospitality, and the careful coordination of services from pre-treatment consultations to post-procedure follow-up care are essential components of the international patient experience. The quality, safety, and continuity of healthcare services remain fundamental to sustainable growth in this sector.

To maintain patient safety, hygiene, and the smooth delivery of healthcare services, the fundamental rules and guidelines regarding patient companions are outlined below.
1. Conditions for Patient Companions
A patient may be accompanied by one companion, subject to the approval of the attending physician following an assessment of the patient’s medical condition and treatment process.
The presence of a second companion may be considered based on the physician’s approval and the facility’s established procedures.
To protect children’s health and ensure patient safety, we recommend that children under the age of 12 do not accompany visitors to patient rooms.
2. Room Use and Daily Arrangements
Companions are kindly requested to store their personal belongings in the designated wardrobes and help maintain an orderly room environment.
Patient beds are reserved exclusively for patients. Suitable chairs are provided in patient rooms for companions to rest.
Keeping patient rooms, bathrooms, and shared areas clean and organized is essential for maintaining appropriate hygiene standards.
3. Meal Service and Daily Procedures
Meal services for patient companions are provided at the following times:
Breakfast: 06:30–07:00
Lunch: 12:00–13:00
Dinner: 18:00–18:30
Companions are expected to follow the information and instructions provided by our nursing staff regarding hand hygiene, fall prevention, patient safety, and other relevant matters.
Any change of companion must be reported to the ward nurse to ensure continuity of patient care and communication.
4. Important Considerations
Before providing patients with any food or beverages, companions must consult the nursing staff to ensure compliance with the patient’s treatment plan and dietary requirements.
No medical procedures or interventions should be performed without the knowledge and guidance of a physician or nurse.
Companions should be physically and mentally capable of providing appropriate support to the patient.
To avoid disturbing other patients during their rest and treatment, companions are kindly requested to refrain from speaking loudly in shared areas.
To maintain a peaceful environment for patients and other guests, televisions should be switched off after midnight (00:00).
5. General Rules and Special Circumstances
Smoking and the use of tobacco products are prohibited in areas where such activities are restricted under applicable legislation. Alcohol consumption and behavior that violates institutional rules are not permitted.
For patient safety and hygiene reasons, pets are not permitted within the healthcare facility.
In the event of technical issues or security concerns, companions may seek assistance from the ward nurse or security personnel.
Feedback, suggestions, requests, and expressions of appreciation may be submitted to the Patient Rights Unit or shared through the survey forms available in patient rooms.
At Esteworld Healthcare Group, we greatly value the contribution of companions who support our patients throughout their treatment and recovery processes. We sincerely thank you for your cooperation and consideration in following these guidelines and wish you a safe, healthy, and comfortable experience.
