Vaginoplasty

Vagionoplasty implies a procedure that is performed to eliminate abnormal relaxation and loss of elasticity in vagina due to aging, delivery, gynecologic interventions and so on. The procedure is also known as vaginal tightening, vagina tightening and vaginal reconstruction.

What is the Purpose of Vaginoplasty?

The procedure is carried out under general anesthesia and it takes approximately 1 hour. No visible scar remains in genital region. It is better that the woman is not in the period in perioperative period. Labioplasty (inner labia aesthetics) can also be combined with vaginoplasty. Labioplasty is the procedure of reducing and shortening the inner labia. Abnormally sagging inner labia are visually irritating for women and may cause aesthetic concerns. Besides, sagging inner labia may result in pain during sexual intercourse and difficulty urination. Labioplasty plays a major role in preventing those problems and regaining the aesthetic appearance.

Postoperative Period

Personal hygiene is important factor in postoperative period of vaginoplasty and it is also necessary to follow recommendations of your doctor. Patient can engage in work activities after the second day. Sexual abstinence is recommended depending on the type of surgery performed. Patients can take a bath 1 day after the procedure. Although the surgery does not cause a severe pain, patients may experience pain, swelling and mild spotting for several days. Genital aesthetic surgery is not a contraindication for delivery. However, in case of spontaneous vaginal delivery, vagina will re-enlarge.

This type of surgeries ensure positive advancements in sexual life of patients and their partners, but there are many other factors that mediate sexual drive and desire in human. Sexual aesthetic surgeries, such as vaginal tightening, intend boosting sexual pleasure rather than regulating sexual drive. Since sexual dysfunctions have many psychological and genetic etiologies, one should not expect to solve all sexual problems with this type of surgeries.
